Elaine Selma Blomster, 92, of Cloquet dies



Elaine Selma Blomster, 92, of Cloquet died Thursday, March 17, 2005 in 

Sunnyside Health Care Center in Cloquet. 

She was born Nov. 14, 1912 in Ely to Erick and Maria (Oist) Jackson. 

Elaine married Elmer Blomster on April 21, 1933 in Cloquet. After their 

marriage, Elaine farmed with her husband until the early 1960s. Elaine 

then went to work as a custodian for the Coop Store and the Coop Credit 

Union until retiring in the mid 1970s. 

She was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church and the WMF group. She 

was also a member of a homemakers club. 

Elaine was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer in 1973; two brothers, 

Carl and Clifford Jackson; three sisters, Anne Kline, Elsie Juhrend, and 

Signe Saline; and her son-in-law, Kenneth Konu. 

She is survived by two daughters, Marie Konu and Kay (Steven) Strand 

both of Cloquet; six grandchildren, Andrew Lamminen, Mark Konu, Sara 

Pearson, Eric Konu, Scott Konu, and Bruce Konu; twelve great grandchildren 

and four great great grandchildren. 

A funeral service was held on Saturday, March 19 at St. Paul’s Lutheran 

Church in Cloquet.
