Frederick Helman's will of 1865, filed in Somerset Co.,Pennsylvania
I, Frederick Helman, in the county of Somerset amd state of Pennsylvania,
yoeman, being of sound mind and memory and understanding do make and
publish this my last Will and Testament, hereby revoking and making void
all former will by me at any time made heretofore, as to such estate as it
has pleased God to entrust me with I dispose of the same as follows, viz I
give and bequeath unto my beloved wife the farm upon which we now reside so
long as she may live and all the personal property of whatever nature it
may be during her natural life and one third of all the grain that is
raised on the property that Samuel Ross resides on and one third of all the
grain of the land where
Henry Moyer now farms the said Henry Moyer and Samuel Ross to have the
privlage if remaining on the premises they now reside by giving one third
of all the grain they may raise to my wife during her natural life, but not
to make use not destroy any timber more than is necessary for repairs and
after the death of my beloved wife <illegible> my desire is that all my
just debts be paid, and the balance of my property disposed of according to
the intestate laws of Pennsylvania equally amongst my heirs except my
daughter Lanah she is to have the price of one cow, one sheep and one hog
over and above her equal portion and my two daughters Polly and Sally to
have each the price of one cow one sheep and one hog and twenty dollars
over and above their equal share including the price of one bed and
bedding, and Samuel Ross and Henry Moyer for part of the consideration to
have the <illegible> firewood during the winter season that my beloved wife
may need so long as they remain on the premises. Lastly my desire is and I
do appoint my my esteemed friend William Reel to be the executor of this my
last Will and Testament in witness whereof I, Frederick Helman, the
testator have to this my last Will written set my hand and seal this 12th
day of June 1865 signed sealed and published and declared in prescence of us
