The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania to the Sheriff of Somerset County
Greeting,
Whereas at an Orphans Court held at Somerset on the 27th day of February 
A. D. 1855 
before the honorable Francis M. Kimmel President and John C. Kurtz, Jonathan 
Knepper ascociated 
Judges of the Same Court, the Petition of Alescander Hunter & James Coleman, 
Administrators 
of the Estate of John B. Coleman deceased respectfully represents that John B. 
Coleman of 
Somerset Township in said County, Lately, died intestate leaving issue eight 
children to 
wit James one of the Petitioners, William, Sarah intermarried with Alescander 
Hunter, 
John, Susan intermarried with Elias Stutzman, Jacob, Herman & George who is yet 
in the 
minority and that the said intestate died in his demence as off fee and in a 
certain 
messuage and tract of land situate in Somerset Township containing 66 Acres more 
or 
less adjoining Lands of Henry Bralliar, George Shaver, Joseph Long, & others 
with the 
appurtenances.
Your Petitioners therefore Prays your honors to award and inquest to make 
Partition 
of the premises aforesaid to and among the children and representatives of the 
said intestate 
in such manner and in such proportion can be made without predjudice or spoiling 
the whole 
but if such partition can not be made thereof as aforesaid thence to value and 
appraise 
the same and make report of their Proceedings herein according to Law and they 
will pray.
Whereupon the Court award a writ of Partition agreeable to Petitioners 
returnable 
o nesct regular term of Court.
Witness the honorable Francis M. Kimmel at Somerset this 3rd day of March 
A.D. 1855.
