A LONG JOURNEY TO ANSWER DRAFT CALL

Special to the Tribune
Lewistown, Sept. 1 - George M. Vaughn, of Belleville, arrived at his home last
week, after traveling more than 2,000 miles to answer the draft call of Mifflin
county to leave with the contingent of forty-five men.
Vaughn was working in the harvest fields of the Dominion of Canada and his
call was forwarded to him through the post office department. He started the
same day via the Dakotas, arriving here to leave next day for Camp Lee to fill
the quota from Mifflin county. Vaughn was highly commended by the local draft
board for his prompt action.
