LEWISTOWN PARENTS HEAR SON IS KILLED

Captain of Battery Writes of Death of Charles J. Kline in France

Special to the Tribune.
  Lewistown, August 5. - Mr. and Mrs. Christ Kline today received a letter 
from Captain J. T. Bonner, commanding the Second Trench Mortar battery in 
France, telling them of the death of their son, Charles J. Kline, killed on 
June 29 by enemy artillery fire.  He was buried with honors of war, the 
chaplain of the marines officiating.  As yet no word has been received from 
the war department of his death.
  Kline enlisted at Altoona July 29, 1917, and was in service just eleven 
months when killed.  He was in training at Columbus and Gettysburg and landed 
in England January 8, 1918, going thence to France.
