KAUFFMAN CLAN HOLDS REUNION

THEIR AGES TOTAL 293 YEARS [photo]

Featured attraction at the 24th annual Kauffman reunion on July 5 at the 
Newton Hamilton camp grounds was a vocal selection by the Kauffman Brothers 
quartet.  The ages of the brothers total 293 years.  Pictures (left to right) 
are: J. W. Kauffman of Altoona, aged 77; F. R. Kauffman of Newton Hamilton, 
aged 76; C. M. Kauffman of Altoona, aged 73, and J. R. Kauffman of Newton 
Hamilton, aged 67.

  The 24th annual Kauffman reunion was held at the Newton Hamilton camp 
grounds Monday, July 5, with 73 members of the clan present.  The program got 
under way in the morning at 9l30 o'clock.
  Following the group singing of "America" and the invocation by Mrs. C. M. 
Kauffman, the noon meal was served from two 40-foot tables.  The afternoon 
was spent in group singing and entertainment.  Readings were given by Mrs. C. 
M. Kauffman, Avis Sunderland and C. M. Kauffman.  A special solop [salop?] 
was presented by Edna Miller of Altoona.  Baseball, quoits and other games 
were played.
  A featured attraction of the afternoon was the Kauffman Brothers quartet, 
composed of J. W. Kauffman of Altoona, aged 77; F. R. Kauffman of Newton 
Hamilton, aged 76; C. M. Kauffman of Altoona, aged 73, and J. R. Kauffman of 
Newton Hamilton, aged 67.  The group sang "Old Black Joe."
  Following the evening meal, the remainder of the day was spent in well-
wishing and goodbyes for another year.
  Officers reelected for the ensuing year are: President, Russell R. 
Kauffman; vice president, Charles M. Kauffman; secretary, Mrs. Maggie 
Douglas, and treasurer, Charles Wharton.
