Two Local Residents Observe Anniversaries
Mrs. El?? Hoffman of Willow Street celebrated her 84th birthday anniversary
last Thursday January 1st. Many friends called during the day and she was the
recipient of numerous gifts. Mrs. Hoffman who is a great-great grandmother is
in good health and spirits (unreadable) in present day affairs, and has a
large circle of friends who unite with the Miner in extending congratulations
on her birthday.
Mrs. Octavia Raymer entertained a party of fifteen friends and relatives
Saturday evening in honor of her father, Lewis Raymer's 83d birthday
anniversary. A delicious dinner was enjoyed and Mr. Raymer was presented with
numerous gifts. Mr. Raymer is in good health and is unusually active for a
man of his age. The Miner and a host of friends extend congratulations on his
natal day.

Infant Daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Bert Abbey Dies
Alberta Mae, the infant daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Bert Abbey of East
Smethport died Sunday, May 17th, three days after her birth. The little one
is survived by her parents and nine brothers and sisters.
Funeral services were held from the home Sunday and burial was in Rose Hill
Cemetery.

H.M. Choate Celebrates 88th Birthday Anniversary.
H.M. Choate of King Street celebrated his 88th birthday anniversary on
Saturday August 23d with a birthday party at his residence. All the member of
his family were present and numerous friends called that afternoon to
felicitate him upon this happy occasion. He was the recipient of many
handsome gifts.
Mr. Choate is a veteran of the Civil War, and one of the few surviving
members of the local G.A.R. post, which disbanded a few years ago. He is in
unusually good health for a man of his years and retains a keen interest in
present day affairs.
The Miner extends congratulations.
