Neighboring Correspondence 
Union Grove Union Grove, July 23, 1901. The funeral of Mrs. P. W. 
Dunkirk was held from the Congregational church last Sunday at 10:30 
a.m. and was largely attended. Mrs. Dunkirk died at her home in this 
village Friday, July 19, 1901, of tuberculosis. She was the daughter of 
Mr. and Mrs. John Sumpter and was born Sept. 10, 1802. Her father, four 
brothers and two sisters, survive her in her father's family; in her 
own family she is mourned by a husband and three children, Viz., Ward, 
Elsie and Bessie, also by a large circle of relatives and intimate 
friends. The deceased was a member of the Royal Neighbors of America, , 
and they with the Modern Woodmen of America, turned out in a body to 
attend the services. The sermon was preached by Rev. Breeze from John 
10:11, "Our friend Sleepeth." Music was furnished by Mr. and Mrs. 
Thomas Griffiths of Beloit, Mr. T. P. Griffiths and Mrs. T.G. Buchan 
Union Grove. The following "Neighbors" were bearers: Chas. Motley, Mike 
Nisen, Cam. Donald, Jas. W. Dixon, Chet. Hulett and Henry Swantz. The 
services at the grave were conducted the Royal Neighbors. Mr. Dunkirk 
and children have the profound sympathy the community in their loss.
