Wedemeyer

Henry F. Wedemeyer, an old resident of Racine, died at 
2:30 o'clock yesterday afternoon, at No. 1600 Washington 
Avenue, of old age. Deceased was born Sept. 13, 1829, at 
Hanover, Germany. He came to America and landed at New 
Orleans in 1847 and was a resident of Racine forty-two 
years and was at one time a prominent and prosperous 
merchant. He was married June 20, 1852. Four children 
survive him, John H. Wedemeyer, of Oklahoma City; Mrs. J. 
H. Hebner, Chicago; Mrs. W. H. Lutz; and Misses Anna, and 
Mary Wedemeyer, of Racine, to mourn his loss. Mr. 
Wedemeyer was an honest and upright man and held high by 
his fellowmen. Besides his children there are eight 
grand- children. The funeral will take place Thursday 
afternoon at 2 o'clock from the house and 2:30 from the 
First German Evangelical Lutheran Church on Villa street.
