FOUR SCORE YEARS OLD.

Family Reunion in Honor of the Venerable Joseph H. Waite of
Warriorsmark.

Joseph H. Waite, of Warriorsmark, the veteran auctioneer who has
probably officiated at more farm sales than any man who ever followed
the business, reached the eightieth milestone in his life yesterday,
and the anniversary was made the occasion of a pleasant family reunion
in his honor.
The children and their children to the third and fourth generation
gathered in force at the home of the patriarch. All his sons and
daughters were there. They are T. C. Waite, of Water Street; Andrew A.
K. Waite, Mrs. Jacob H. Mattern, S. Blair Waite and Mrs. Scott Buck, of
Warriorsmark; Hays H. Waite Esq., of Huntingdon; George C. and Joseph
H. Waite Jr., of Tyrone. Then thirty-one grandchildren and one great-
grandchild were numbered among the party, all comprising a large and
happy family gathering.
Of course a big dinner was the prime feature of the day. The aged
father, who is hale and hearty, bearing his four score years as easily
as many men of only three score, enjoyed the occasion to its utmost.
His children remembered him substantially, too, for they bestowed upon
him literally a shower of gold, a handsome token of filial care and
regard. The event was pleasant and long to be remembered by all the
members of the sturdy family who have been so closely identified with
the growth of Warriorsmark valley.
