Miss Veronica Callaghan will give a Washington's birthday  party
Saturday afternoon at her home in south Prospect street in honor of her
little niece, Jane Soisson.

A wedding of interest is that of Miss Clara Catherine Baker, daughter of
Mrs. Louise Baker of Greenwood, and Jesse W. Jordan, stationed at Camp
Mead, Annapolis Junction, Md., quietly solemnized yesterday morning at
11 o'clock at the parsonage of the Trinity Reformed church in
Greensburg.  Rev. E S. Bromer, the pastor, officiated.  The bride is
widely and favorably known, having resided in Greenwood for a number of
years.  She was graduated from the Connellsville high school and for the
past three years has been a stenographer at the Second National Bank.
Mr. Jordan before entering the service last May was employed by the
Union Supply company of Trotter.  Immediately after the service, Mr. &
Mrs. Jordan left for Cleveland, O., to visit the latter's brother and
sister-in-law, Mr. & Mrs. Charles F. Baker.  At the expiration of a
15-day furlough the bridegroom will return to a debarkation hospital at
Camp Meade to receive further treatment for wounds received in action
October 9 on the Verdum front.  The bride will resume her stenographic
duties at the bank.

Mr. & Mrs. Samuel Lee gave a super Monday evening at their home in South
Connellsville in honor of their son, Lieutenant Robert E. Lee, formerly
stationed at Vancouver Barracks, Washington.  Covers were laid for
relatives and friends of the family.  Following the supper songs were
rendered and addresses were made.  Out of town guests were Mrs. Nancy
Halteraum, Mr. & Mrs. Mack Gaster and son, Dewey, of Shoaf, and Mr. &
Mrs. Eugene Dwire of Uniontown.  Mr. Lee at the conclusion of his visit
here will leave for Washington D. C. where he will be assigned to other
duties.

Mr. & Mrs. James Burns, who were married yesterday morning, left this
morning for a wedding trip to New York and other points of interest.

Mrs. Jerome McCormick went to Wilkinsburg this morning to visit her
son-in-law and daughter; Mr. & Mrs. W. R. Jones.

Mrs. C. N. Shaw of Camp Taylor, Louisville, Ky., is visiting at the home
of her brothers, Charles C. Mitchell in East Green street, and J. W.
Mitchell in West Apple street.  Mrs. Shaw is the wife of Captain Shaw.

C. M. Poole returned to his home in Ruffsdale.  Mr. Poole was recently
discharged from the Army.

Mrs. Charles Davidson of North Pittsburg street spent yesterday as the
guest of her son and daughter-in-law, Mr. & Mrs. William Davidson of
Point Marion.

Mrs. S. A. Elliard of Uniontown was the guest of her parents Mr. & Mrs.
J. A. Mason of South Arch street yesterday.

J. D. Fox, Marine, at Home.  J. D. Fox, who was recently honorably
discharged from the Marine Corps, is at home ready to take work as
fireman on the Baltimore & Ohio railroad.  During his period of service,
he spent 12 weeks in training at Paris Island and then was ordered to
Norfolk for ship duty.  In that capacity he visited England and France,
Guantanamo, Cuba, Panama and Halifax.

Sergeant Major Mason Home.  Sergeant Major George H. Mason who was in
the aviation service, stationed in England, has arrived here and is
visiting his parents, Mr. & Mrs. J. A. Maxon of South Arch street.
Sergeant Major Mason has been honorably discharged from the service and
later will go to Pittsburg to resume his work with the Standard Motor
Truck company.

Mary Matthews, now residing in Uniontown, and at one time a resident of
Dunbar, today filed suit in divorce against George H. Matthews, whose
whereabouts in unknown.  Desertion is charged.  The couple were married
in Dunbar, July 12, 1891, and since then have lived in Latrobe and
Uniontown.
