Herald/Standard 1929
A citation was granted Wednesday on the estate of the late W.W. Patterson
of South Union Township, calling upon the administrator, Luke C. Patterson, a
son, to file an account. The citation was granted upon the petition of the
Peoples Bank of Greensboro, which seeks to collect a judgment of $2,400 it has
obtained on the administrator.
Mr. Patterson died November 2, 1912, and letters were issued to Luke C.
Patterson after the widow, Matilda, had renounced her right to the estate, the
citation sets forth. Personal property at that time was valued at $6,000 and
real estate consisting of a 125 acre farm in South Union Township was valued
at $10,500.
No inventory and appraisal of the property was filed within the six
months time required by law, the petitioner asserts and there has never been
any account filed. The bank states it loaned Patterson $2,400 on a note May
10, 1929, and has never been able to collect the loan.
