JACOB MERITZ SENT TO WORKHOUSE
Jacob Meritz, charged with starting a forest fire on the property of the
Indian Creek Coal & Coke Company April 30, last, was given 90 days in
the workhouse when sentenced in court in Uniontown this morning. He
denied having started more than one fire although several were
discovered burning in that vicinity. He said he lighted the fire by a
sun glass.
