  The Brownfield Church choir will present its Christmas program on 
Wednesday, December 20, at 8 o'clock in the church auditorium.  The 
presentation this year is in the form a a play entitled "Mr. David's 
Christmas."  Included in the delightful story of the Christmas happenings in a 
backwoods mountain village, are also several musical numbers by members of the 
cast and choir.  The music is under the direction of Judson Miller, the 
dramatics under Richard Foot.
       The cast of characters is as follows:  May Lancey, a vigorous gray-
haired woman, Florence Curstead; Mr. David, an aristocratic-looking old 
gentleman, Woodrow Miller; Hal Steele, a young electrical engineer, Kenneth 
Wilson; Julie, a talented and ambitious young singer, Betty Elsey; Postie 
Jenks, a rural postman, J.W. Patterson; Mrs. Buggle and Mathy Tyler, friends 
of Maw Lancey, Pauline Worthington and Olive Mae Sipole; Ezry, Zeb and Luke, 
mountaineers, Annette Rumbaugh, Hazel Mae Gwynne and Patti Curstead; Abner 
Buggle, a village boy, Jimmy Elsey; Lizzie Fitts, a little girl, Mary Lee 
Gray.
