"County Men Off"
GEORGE REED, of Moylan and HARPER F. LEEPER, of Media,
son of Rev. S. HARPER LEEPER, sailed last night on the liner
Tuscania, for Frances, with the American Legion. They are
representatives of CLAYTON T. SMITH Post, of Media, and are
carrying with them earth from the United States to be placed on the
grave of CLAYTON T. SMITH, in Frances.
Upon their return they will bring back French soil to place upon
the grave of WALTER MADENFORD, in Cumberland cemetery,
Middletown township. He was the first Media soldier to be killed
in action.
ROBERT C. JONES, of Media, first lieutenant in the World War,
also made the voyage to Frances.
