TRINITY UAME Church, 5th and Olive Sts., Media, will mark
its founding in 1835 with special services Sunday.

The church was originally the OLD UNION CHURCH OF
HAYTI, Springfield Hill in Marple, and featured in the underground
railroad there for run-away slaves. The old church graveyard still
remains and is one of Delaware County's historical landmarks.

TRINITY, the second oldest Negro church in the county, will
honor its old families and the new residents to the county seat
at the 11 a. m. service. The pastor, Rev. Ross Nicholas, will
        deliver the sermon.

The business and professional organizations of Media will
officially welcome the new residents at the 2 p. m. service. A
highlight of this service will be the history of the church by
Percy O. Batipps. He and Mrs. Theodosia King are co-chairmen
        of the anniversary celebration.
