  Golden Wedding- Alexander Speakman and wife, Westtown Township, celebrated 
  their fiftieth wedding anniversary on Tuesday, when a dinner was set out by 
  those who had come to celebrate the occasion. Rev. Joseph E. Evans, of West 
  Chester,was present and read a portion of scripture and offered prayer for the 
  twain who had been spared to enjoy a long life of usefulness and prosperity. 
  There were sixty persons in the company, representing Wilmington, 
  Delaware, Phonexville, Goshenville, and Delaware County, while many were 
  forcibly detained at home on account of the condition of the roads. the 
  venerable pair were presented with many useful and ornamental presents. Mr. 
  Speakman had been employed for a period of fifty years at Westtown Boarding 
  School, and attends to all the repairing needed in the institution.
