Tragedy Mars Plans to Honor Safety Leader
Funeral rites will be held for the late Quentin J. Seyler, 63, whose
death in a clay mine accident at Chestnut Grove occurred on Tuesday morning,
hardly a week before he was to have been feted as chairman of the safety
committee for a mine that had established a record for safety.
Plans for a banquet to have been next week by way of marking the safety
record of the mine were well advanced. It is not known whether the plans
will be carried out, now that the chairman of the safety committee has been
killed.
Rev. James Hanna, of Fertig will officiate at the funeral rites to be
held at the Seyler home, and burial will be made in the Luthersburg
Cemetery.
