Morning Tribune, Altoona, Pa., Friday, August 4, 1899

Girard B. Edwards, a member of company H, Tenth Pennsylvania
volunteers, who was discharged at Manila on account of rheumatism
and malarial fever some two months ago and returned to San Francisco
on the transport Indiana, arrived in Tyrone yesterday at noon and
stopped at the home of Dr. B. J. Fulkerson, 1117 North Pennsylvania
avenue. Mr. Edwards, who has resided for many years near Smithsville,
Gulich township, Clearfield county, and who at present is confined
to his bed with illness, is very anxious to see his soldier boy.
Girard left at 3.15 on the Tyrone and Clearfield express and went to
Ramey by way of Osceola Mills. He reached home last evening.
