Train Accident and Death of Samuel SHARP.

From Penningtonville 29 October 1873
On Saturday, the 25 inst., SAMUEL SHARP, the baggage agent at Parkesburg,
was instantly killed by the cars. The two mail trains came up to the depot
about the same time, Mr. SHARP stood on the platform with the baggage, and
as the eastern bound train came slowly along, he had a trunk up ready to put
into the car, and the western bound train ran over him, killing him instantly.--
Confusion reigned for a few minutes, while all of the passengers and lookers-on
were horror struck at the sight and the thought. His funeral is to take place on
Tuesday, the 28th, at 9 o'clock.
