"Jim" Ingram in Town

James Ingram better known as "Jim" came up from his home in Swathmore today
and mingled with friends who were glad to see him.

"Jim" is now a retired locomotive engineer. Last October 1st the Pennsylvania
Railroad Co placed him on that list, after serving continuously 48 years, 28
years of which re ran a train from Philadelphia to Perryville.

He and "Joe" Cobeurn were the "big 'uns in the company's service. Both are
now resting after their long terms of faithful attention to their work.

"Jim" now weighs 252 pounds. One he pulled the scales at over 200 pounds. He
took obesity pills for a few weeks and they reduced his avoirdupois about 80
pounds, leaving his in good health with an appetite of the meat axe order. At
the time of his fleshy zenith he measured 60 inches around the waist and now
with several inches gone somewhere he knows not where he refrains from going
without suspenders.

He has a comfortable and cheery home at Swathmore, where he and his wife and
daughter are contented not caring a job for the high price of butter. A truck
patch affords "Jim" all the recreation he needs and desires and when he grows
weary of using the spade and hoe as he admits he is prone to do at times, he
goes riding anywhere and everywhere as the guest of the "Pennsy," which
recreation is a part of the generous terms upon which the company retired him.
"Jim" is in good health and contented at the age of 67 years.
