VERY BADLY SCALDED.

Woman Living Up Juniata Gap Upsets Kettle of Boiling Water Over Herself.

Mrs. Mary Clark, who lives in the Juniata Gap, north of Juniata, met with a
serious accident Saturday.
At the time she was working about the cooking stove, on which there was a
kettle of boiling water. In some manner the kettle was upset, the scalding
contents pouring over the woman's right side. Dr. E. C. Blacburn [sic], of this
city, who was making a professional call in the vicinity, was called in and did
everything known to relieve the unfortunate's sufferings. The woman is so badly
scalded that her life is despaired of.
