MEMORIAL BELL DEDICATION

M. Z. Bassler to Be Honored at Martinsburg on Saturday

  On Saturday at Martinsburg, a memorial bell will be dedicated at the 
Morrison's Cove college.  The college term begins September 16 and 
preparations are now being made to have the buildings in ship shape for the 
opening.
  The bell is a memorial to M. Z. Bassler, late editor of the Martinsburg 
Herald and for a number of years previous to his death Martinsburg 
correspondent of the Tribune.  He was widely known throughout the county as a 
successful editor and his friends are legion.
  The exercises begin at 2 p.m.  The program also includes a flag 
presentation by the P.O.S. of A., with addresses by prominent Blair 
countians, follows:

  P.O.S. of A. Flag Presentation, Lloyd D. Claycomb, Altoona.
  Acceptance for College, Robert W. Smith, Hollidaysburg.
