Mrs. Anna Novak Buchek, 82, of Latrobe died Saturday, Dec. 20, 1997, in Latrobe
Area Hospital. She was born July 29, 1915, in Derry Township, a daughter of the
late Michael and Ann (Varhas) Helenic. She was a member of Holy Family Roman
Catholic Church in Latrobe. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in
death by her first husband, Frank Novak, in 1948; her second husband, Walter
Buchek, in 1973; a sister, Julia Kabala Zepko, and five brothers: Joseph,
Michael, Steven, George and John. She is survived by six children, Barbara Smith
(and her husband, Franklin), Frank Novak Jr. (and his wife, Sally) and Theodore
Novak Sr., all of Latrobe, Carl T. Novak and Edward S. Novak, with whom she
resided, and Carol Baum (and her husband, James) of Cook Township; 14
grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandchild, and a brother,
Frank. There will be no public visitation. Friends and family are welcome to
attend a Funeral Mass at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday in Holy Family Church, Latrobe.
Interment will follow in Unity Cemetery, Unity Township. Hartman-Graziano
Funeral Home Inc., Latrobe, is in charge of arrangements.
