Latrobe Bulletin Fri, May 18, 1979
Leroy T. Ayers, 60, of Latrobe RD 5 (Beatty), died unexpectedly on arrival at
Latrobe Area Hospital Thursday morning. He was born July 16, 1918, in Ligonier
Township (Longbridge), son of Charles T. Ayers of New Florence and the late
Flora E. (Mack) Ayers. He was employed by Kennametal Inc. for 28 years and was a
member of Latrobe United Methodist Church, Kingston Vets and Sportsmen Club and
Slovak Literary and Social Club of Hostetter. In addition to his father, he is
survived by his widow, Lillian (Carns) Ayers; two sons, David of Saudia Arabia,
and Dennis of Latrobe; two grandsons, and three sisters, Pauline of Vandergrift,
Mrs. John (Dorothy) Sturni of Bethel Park and Mrs. Joseph (Mary Ann) Short of
Pleasant Unity. Family will receive friends in Richard W. Dell Home for
Funerals, Latrobe, from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday and 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday.
Funeral services will be held in the chapel at 1 p.m. Sunday with the Rev. Paul
M. Easter, D.D., officiating. Interment will follow in Green Mountain Cemetery,
Ligonier Township.
