FORMER ALTOONAN IS STABBED, SAYS REPORT

Benjamin Stoehr, of McKees Rocks, Hurt During Altercation Last Night

  Benjamin Stoehr, aged 27, of McKees Rocks, formerly of this city, was 
stabbed seriously in an altercation last evening in that town, according to a 
message received at police station last night.
  Stoehr is a brother of Fred, better known as "Baldy" Stoehr, of 1906 Second 
avenue, a well-known local ball player, who was apprised of the stabbing by 
police.  The Altoonan, accompanied by his father, departed early this morning 
for McKees Rocks. 
  Mrs. Stoehr, wife, of the wounded man, came to this city yesterday to make 
a visit.  She will return today.  The exact circumstances of the stabbing 
were not made cleat to police authorities receiving the message by long 
distance phone.
