McDonald PA Outlook, 21 Apr 1916

A surprise party was given by Mrs. F. CARLY, Mrs. J. J. PUSKAR, and Mrs. W.
A. RENNEKAMP at the home of Mrs. F. CARLY Sturgeon, Pa., in honor of their
mother's sixty-sixth birthday. The colors were carried out in purple and
yellow and touches of white and, the center piece was a large birthday cake.
The dining room, parlor and sitting room were decorated with Easter lilies
and daffodils. Mrs. SOUFFRANT had been visiting at the home of her
daughter, Mrs. W. A. RENNEKAMP of McKees Rocks the former part of the week,
and when she returned home, Thursday, April 13th, she was surprised to be
greeted by about seventy guests who had assembled at the home of Mrs. F.
CARLY, Mrs. SOUFFRANT's daughter. The evening was spent with games and
dancing, music being furnished by LEINARD's orchestra assisted by August
CARLY, Mrs. SOUFFRANT's grandson. At 10:30 a delicious lunch was served.
The favors were little gold Easter baskets. After lunch, the sixty-six
candles were lit on the cake and Mrs. SOUFFRANT showed the guests that she
was still strong considering her age, by blowing out the candles in two
breaths. Mrs. SOUFFRANT was the recipient of many beautiful and useful
gifts.
