Ex-mayor Joe Barker
Pittsburg, April 11. -  Joe Barker, the Ex-Mayor, was convicted yesterday, of riot
and misdemeanor, while in office, and was sentenced to five months imprisonment,
besides paying a fine of $300. Before the Judge sentenced him, Mr. Barker harangued
a large crowd from the Court House steps, abusing the judges and lawyers without
stint. His friends now promise to make him sheriff.
