BAKER'S SUMMIT

Mrs. Alma Myers returned home Saturday after spending a week in Claysburg with 
friends.

Mr. and Mrs. John Bechtel, of Hollidaysburg, and Mr. and Mrs. George Helsel, of 
Brook's Mills, spent the week-end at the home of W. K. Bechtel.

Olive Long spent last week in Altoona with relatives.

We are glad to see our merchant. A. Z. Pote, back at his old place in the store 
again.

Mrs. Howard Long and children, of Altoona, are spending a few days with her 
father, A. Z. Pote.

Mr. and Mrs. Ransom Ferry and son Galen, and mother, Mrs. C. P. Long, spent 
Wednesday in Altoona.

Miss Mabel Long is spending a month with home folks near Everett.

Those who spent Sunday at the home of Mr. and Mrs. M. Mock were Jason Brumbaugh, 
Charles Mock and wife and daughter Fern, of Roaring Spring; Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd 
Snyder and children, of Altoona, and Mrs. Guy Yeckel, of Pittsburg.

Mr. and Mrs. Ira Burket and daughter, of Roaring Spring, spent last Sunday at 
the home of Mrs. Mary Heltzel.

Guy Mock and Grant Pote were business visitors in Bedford Tuesday.

The money solicited by the Red Cross girls amounted to $152.50, the champion 
solicitors being Julia Barby, $61.60; Emma P. Mock, $61.30; the remaining amount 
was solicited by Lennis Hinkle and Elva Kyler.

Mr. and Mrs. Jon Baker, of Lakemont, are visiting in our community.

Mr. and Mrs. Earl Barby and daughter Rebecca, of Hollidaysburg, passed through 
our town Saturday evening.

The funeral of Mrs. Fred Dively, of Claysburg, was largely attended. The 
officiating ministers were Elders Rose, Sell, Wilt, Brumbaugh and Brumbaugh.
