FRED L. ARNOLD, OF BEDFORD, SEVERELY WOUNDED ON WEST BATTLE FRONT

  Fred L. Arnold, of Bedford, a private in the U.S. army in France, was 
listed in the casualty list of August 7 as having been seriously wounded in 
action in the fighting in the Chateau Theirry sector.
  Previous to his enlistment in the service he was a drug salesman and has 
many friends in the city.  He frequently visited here and at the outbreak of 
war expressed his determination to enlist.  He was gassed several months ago 
but recovered and went back to the front.
