Mar. 20, 1846 - Died on the 14th inst., Hannah EGOLF, consort of Jacob 
EGOLF, dec'd., aged 86 yrs., 14 days. 

Jan. 15, 1847 - Married on 26 Nov., Wm. Beaver to Hannah EGOLF, both of 
Napier Twp. 

Oct. 14, 1869 - Lizzie Catharine EGOLF, daughter of Benjamin and Susan 
EGOLF, died on Sept. 20, 1869 near Schellsburg. 

May 2, 1919 - Mrs. Frank EGOLF and daughter Ada of Glen Savage are 
spending this week with the formers parents, Mr. and Mrs. William 
Hinson.

June 6, 1919 & June 20, 1919 - Obituary of Benjamin EGOLF

June 13, 1919 - Ryan, Russell and Dan EGOLF with their father and 
mother visited  J. H. EGOLF near here.

June 20, 1919 - Benjamin EGOLF, died Saturday, May 31, 1919 of Bright's 
disease aged 75 years 7 months and 18 days.  He was born near 
Schellsburg and was a thrifty well-to-do farmer all his life.  He was 
married to Susan Guyer, deceased, to which union there were five 
children:  Mrs. Maria Manges of Windber; Frank EGOLF of near Fair Hope, 
Somerset County; and Henry EGOLF, of Somerset; Mrs. Emma Findley, of 
Schellsburg Rt. 1 and Mrs. Elsie Harclerode of Windber.  He is survived 
by one sister also Mrs. George Williams of Oregon.  His remains were 
laid to rest Tuesday June 3rd in the Schellsburg cemetery under the 
rites of the I. O. O. F.  The services being conducted by Rev. Metzgar, 
of the Reformed Church of Schellsburg of which the deceased was a 
worthy member for years.

Note:Mr. Benjamin EGOLF married Miss Susanna Geyer on 4/10/1867 in 
Schellsburg, Bedford, PA. They were both from Bedford County, PA.

Dec. 26, 1919  - Marriage of Charles W. EGOLF  of Schellsburg to Mary 
E. Bittner of Buena Vista.

Jan. 30, 1920 - Frank Niceodemus, 51, died.  He was born and raised on 
the old EGOLF farm in Napier Twp., surviving is a wife who was Miss 
Hammer.

Feb. 27, 1920 - For Sale:  Black Percheron Stallion, 1800 pounds for

April 9, 1920 - F. S. EGOLF of Fairhope transacted business in Bedford, 
Wed.

April 23, 1920 - Mrs. M. W. Carter, age 83, mother of Mrs. A. B. EGOLF, 
fell and broke her hip  

May 7, 1920 - Frank EGOLF and family of Glen Savage, made a flying trip 
Sunday afternoon to Helixville and vicinity.

Aug, 12, 1921 - Sheriff Sale of Lena Mowry land, former John M. and 
Sarah J. EGOLF land.

September 9, 1921 - Mrs. Rebecca Josephine Potts wife of Prof. Cyrus J. 
Potts, ex-superintendent of the Bedford County schools, died at 9:50 
Sunday night in Altoona.  She was born at Tipton, Iowa, the daughter of 
William and H. EGOLF Beaver, both deceased.  The family moved from Iowa 
to Schellsburg.   After her marriage to Prof. Potts the couple moved to 
Alum Bank, later coming to Bedford, where they lived 13 years.  Mrs. 
Potts was for many years an active member of the Presbyterian church, 
being a member of the Llyswen [sic] Church.  She is survived by her 
husband and two daughters:  Mrs. Maurice G. Irvine and Mrs. Ralph E. 
Bell, both at home, also a brother Harry E. Beaver, of Schellsburg and 
one sister Mrs. Martha E. Luken of Coffeeville, Kansas.

April 6, 1923 - John H. EGOLF of Schellsburg was in Bedford on 
Wednesday.

April 13, 1923 - John H. Crissman, of New Paris, a prominent citizen of 
this locality died at his home Friday, April 6, at the age of 67 years 
and 11 months.  He is survived by his wife and two daughters, Margaret 
at home and Mrs. Bruce Blackburn, of Johnstown, and one son Edwin, of 
Johnstown.  He was laid to rest last Sunday after noon at 2 o'clock by 
Rev. John Winwood, a former pastor of New Paris but now of Lovett.  His 
text was taken from the book of James, 4:14.  The pallbearers were:  A. 
C. Richards, George W. Hoover, S. P. Suter, S. B. Cuppett, C. M. Davis 
and William Bailey.  Mr. Crissman was a very highly respected citizen 
which is attested to by the exceedingly large funeral.  He farmed for 
the major part of his life in Napier Township on the old Crissman farm 
in the Mullins School district.  He was a life long democrat.

April 13, 1923 - Helixville:  Several of the people here attended the 
funeral of John Crissman on Sunday. . . among them were Frank EGOLF and 
Henry EGOLF, who were in town Sunday.

June 15, 1923 - Mrs. Lyle EGOLF is visiting her relatives in Johnstown.

July 20, 1923 -  Schellsburg:  Dan EGOLF of Johnstown called on our 
town Saturday evening.

Sept. 7, 1923 - New Buena Vista:  Mr. and Mrs. George EGOLF and 
daughter Lena visited home of Mr. John Fritz on Friday of last week.

Sept. 28, 1923 - D. S. Findleys, Avery Hinsons, Alda Crawford, son 
George and grandson Clark Brown, Milton Thomas, Mrs. Effie Hoover and 
Mrs. John EGOLF went to Frank EGOLF's near Glen Savage, Somerset Co.,  
Mr. EGOLF suffering for past two months from a stroke of paralyses.

Oct. 19, 1923 - Charles W. EGOLF of Schellsburg was in Bedford 
Saturday.

Nov. 16, 1923 - Helixville:  L. W. EGOLF and wife of Dilltown, Indiana 
Co., called on relative here.

Feb. 1, 1924 - Mr. Earl EGOLF, who is employed at Johnstown, spent a 
short time at home last week.

Feb. 15, 1924 - The home known as the L. W. EGOLF property near 
Schellsburg, Napier Twp., 1 1/2 miles west of Schellsburg and 1-2 miles 
from the Lincoln Highway was offering for sale, by L. J. Miller, horses 
and farm equipment.

March 7, 1924 - Real Estate:  Deeds recorded John W. EGOLF to Frank 
Mowry, Harrison Twp., lot $600.

March 7, 1924 - Mr. Charly[sic] EGOLF purchased a Ford truck.

March 28, 1924 - Mr. Chester EGOLF and wife of Johnstown are taking a 
short vacation at home.

May 2, 1924 - Unseated land - Tax Sale:  L. W. EGOLF 94 acres Juniata 
Twp. owing $4.95 in taxes, sale scheduled for June 24th.

May 16, 1924 - New Paris:  Mr. Espy Manger has moved from Mine No. One 
of the EGOLF Coal Company to his farm in Shade Twp., Somerset Co. 

May 30, 1924 - Schellsburg:  Mr. and Mrs. C. Gumbert spent Sunday with 
Mr. & Mrs. John EGOLF of Manns Choice.

July 4, 1924 - J. Rush EGOLF of Schellsburg was in Bedford on business 
last Saturday.

July 19, 1924 - [very hard to read]  ------ EGOLF, wife and 2 boys of 
Indiana County are visiting a few days with Mrs. EGOLF's mother ------ 
-------- of this place [Bedford].

Aug. 29, 1924 - Mrs. Lyle EGOLF spent two weeks with Mr. & Mrs. 
Whetstone at their camp at Ogletown.

Jan. 2, 1925 - Mrs. John H. EGOLF of Schellsburg was a Bedford visitor 
on Saturday.

Jan. 16, 1925 - New Beuna Vista:  On Sunday evening, January 4, a 
daughter was born to Mr. & Mrs. Earl EGOLF.

Jan. 23, 1925 - Schellsburg:  Several young sportsmen hunting for fur 
bearing animals struck a fresh track in the snow, which looked like a 
monstrous coon.  They took the trail and ended up at the Rush EGOLF 
home and the fur bearing animal turned out to be Mr. EGOLF's large tom 
cat.

Feb. 6, 1925 - Mr. and Mrs. Charles EGOLF, Mr. and Mrs. William EGOLF 
and family and Mrs. S. W. Bittner visited at the home of Mrs. Mary 
EGOLF on Sunday.

Feb. 13, 1925 - Mrs. Catherine Wolf is taking care of Mrs. James EGOLF 
who is ill at her home near Alum Bank.

March 20, 1925 -  Executors Notice Henry P. EGOLF, Rush G. EGOLF 
executor.

March 20, 1925 - H. Perce EGOLF, one of Napier Townships oldest and 
most highly respected residents, who had followed farming for a number 
of years, died suddenly at the home of his son, Russ, at that place on 
Wednesday March 11.  He had been in ill health for some time, but his 
condition was not thought serious.  Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. 
Oscar Diehl and two sons, Howard, of McConnelsburg and Rush, with whom 
he made his home.  The funeral was conducted last Friday afternoon by 
Rev. C. Gumbert, and interment was made in the Chestnut Ridge Cemetery.

April 3, 1925 - Mr. Oscar Diehl moved on Monday to his new home on the 
H. P. EGOLF farm. [Oscar Diehl was a son in law to Henry P. EGOLF]

May 22, 1925 - Mr. and Mrs. Henry EGOLF and Ralph EGOLF and family of 
Somerset, spent Sunday with Mrs. B. O. Miller of this place.

July 31, 1925 - James EGOLF of Alum Bank, PA will do a poultry 
demonstration Aug. 5, at 10 a.m.

Aug. 7, 1925 - A son came to the home of Mr. & Mrs. Howard EGOLF of 
near town.

Aug. 7, 1925 - A young son came to the home of Mr. and Mrs. Howard 
EGOLF of near town last week.

Oct. 30, 1925 - Mrs. Emma EGOLF has gone to the home of Homer 
Conghnour, near Stoysville.  She expects to remain in Somerset Co., for 
several weeks.

Jan. 15, 1926 - A public sale of 125 acres in Kimmel Twp., Bedford Co. 
of the George W. Knisley land, adjoining land of the "EGOLF Heirs".

Feb. 5, 1926 - R. G. EGOLF of Selinsgrove spent days at the home of his 
sister Mrs. Oscar Diehl of near town.

March 19, 1926 - Mrs. John H. EGOLF, of Schellsburg, PA spent yesterday 
with relatives and friends in Bedford.

Mrs. Melissa Carter, who had lived in Bedford for the past sixteen 
years with her daughter Mrs. A. B. EGOLF, on South Juliana St., died 
early Monday morning of this week.  Six years ago Mrs. Carter fell and 
fractured her hip, since which time she had been confined to her home, 
although she recovered sufficiently to be about the house.  She was 
born in Belleville, IL, on October 11, 1837, and resided there until 
the death of her husband, Moses W. Carter, D.D.C., which occurred 
shortly prior to her removal to Bedford.  She was a daughter of Mr. and 
Mrs. Samuel Stookey, and was married to Dr. Carter in 1855.  She was 
the mother of three children, two of whom preceded her in death and is 
survived by Mrs. A. B. EGOLF, Bedford.  Mrs. Carter was a lifelong 
member of the Presbyterian church.  She was of a kindly and charitable 
disposition.  Funeral services were conducted at her late home in 
Bedford at 1 o'clock, yesterday (Thursday) afternoon and were in charge 
of Rev. R. S. Caldwell, pastor of the Bedford Presbyterian church.  
Final funeral services will be held in her old home in Belleville and 
will be in charge of Rev. Meeker, pastor of the Presbyterian church of 
that city tomorrow (Saturday) morning at 10:30 o'clock.  Interment will 
be made at Belleville. 

April 9, 1926 - Rush EGOLF of Selinsgrove is spending his vacation with 
his sister Mrs. Oscar Diehl.

June 25, 1926 - D. S. Findley, Edward Hinson, Harry Findley, Dennis 
Flegle, and Elmer Miller have been working on a new barn for John N. 
EGOLF, near Mann's Choice.

Nov. 12, 1926 - Mrs. Mary EGOLF and son Earl of Schellsburg were in 
Bedford Thursday on business.

Nov. 12, 1926 - Helixville:  Mr. Walter EGOLF, wife and 2 children of 
OH visited relatives in and about Helixville.

Nov. 19, 1926 - Pubic Sale, Mary EGOLF, on Dec. 4, 1926 at her 
residence, 3 miles west of Schellsburg near Lincoln Highway:  3 horses, 
2 cows, 3 head young cattle, hogs, blacksmith tools, farm implements, 
corn binder and planter, Osborn binder, wagon, harness, sled, 
International gasoline engine, 4 hp. Letz chopper, ensilage cutter, 
sleight, manure spreader, iron kettle and lots of other articles. . .

July 22, 1927 - EGOLF reunion will be held in McKinney Grove along 
Lincoln Highway on  July 30th.

July 29, 1927 - Mrs. Emma EGOLF who has been spending the past 2 weeks 
here with her mother left Sunday for Glen Savage where she will visit 
her daughter Mae and family.

Aug. 19, 1927 - Mr. & Mrs. Glenn EGOLF and Mr. EGOLF's sister, Mrs. 
Lizzie John of Johnstown and their mother Mrs. Mary EGOLF of 
Schellsburg are leaving on a pleasure trip to Iowa.

Oct. 21, 1927 - Mr. D. S. Findley and Elmer Miller were doing some 
carpentry work last week for Henry EGOLF near Somerset.

Dec. 2, 1927 - Schellsburg:  The funeral of Mr. [sic] Lyle EGOLF was 
held in the Presbyterian Church on Monday afternoon. [Nov. 27, 1927]

Dec. 2, 1927 - Helixville:  Many of the folks here attended the funeral 
of Mrs. [sic] Lyle EGOLF in Schellsburg.

of Schellsburg, deceased.

Jan. 20, 1928 - Helixville: Mrs. Emma EGOLF of Downie, PA is spending 
time with her mother of this place.

Feb. 3, 1928 - Mrs. A. B. EGOLF returned from Philadelphia on Sunday, 
where she had spent several months undergoing treatment in a hospital.

April 27, 1928 - Mrs. Sarah EGOLF spent Wednesday with the Geller 
sisters.

May 18, 1928, Charles EGOLF elected teacher, West End School, Juniata

July 20, 1928 - EGOLF Reunion will be held McKinneys Grove Sat. July 
28th.

Sept. 21, 1928 - Roy Coughenour and family and Emma EGOLF of Glen 
Savage, PA were calling on relatives on Sunday last.

Sept. 28, 1928 - Obituary of Mrs. William Hinson, of Helixville, born 
Aug. 16, 1843, age 85-1-5, died. Leaves to survive her a daughter Emma 
EGOLF of Glen Savage.

Oct. 12, 1928 - Mrs. John EGOLF and son Howard of Schellsburg were in 
Bedford on Tuesday.

Dec. 14, 1928 - Mr. A. B. EGOLF purchased the Fyan Grove  and has 
decided to give a portion of the grove to Bedford Borough for a public 
picnic and recreation ground.  A committee will meet with Mr. EGOLF to 
select a portion for that purpose.

Oct. 19, 1928 - Real Estate Sale of Joseph Knisely, West St. Clair, for 
40 acre tract adjoining land of Sarah J. EGOLF.

Nov. 16, 1928 - J. W. EGOLF and nephew of West St. Clair Township, won 
a first prize of $3.00 from the Bedford Kiwanis Club for best potato 
grown.

Dec. 14, 1928 - Prof. Rush EGOLF of Pittsburgh spent a few days with 
his sister Mrs. Diehl

Jan. 4, 1929 - Prof. Rush EGOLF of Pittsburgh spent a few days with his

Feb. 15, 1929 - Miss Hester Hull, died at the home of Mrs. Elizabeth 
Colvin at Schellsburg, Jan. 31, 1929, daughter of John & Dolly Hull, 
leaving Mrs. James EGOLF of Alum Bank a surviving niece.

March 15, 1929 - Real Estate:  Adam Claycomb to Howard S. EGOLF, Napier

March 22, 1929 - Henry EGOLF, wife and son were at D. S. Findley's one 
day last week.

March 29, 1929 - Roy EGOLF attended a farewell party for Miss Olive 
Minerva and Violet Snyder on March 22 in Manns Choice.

April 12, 1929 - Helixville:  Mr. and Mrs. Daniel EGOLF of Johnstown 
spent Sunday with relatives near here.

May 10, 1929 - Mr. A. B. EGOLF appeared before Borough Council to 
present them with
a deed for the park and playground he donated, known as EGOLF Park, 
contains 10s 26p and is covered with oak trees.

July 19, 1929 - Mrs. John EGOLF and son Roy, and Mr. & Mrs. Howard 
EGOLF and Mrs. Emma Blackburn motored to Holidaysburg on Sunday.

July 26, 1929 - EGOLF Reunion will be held in McKinneys Grove west of 
Schellsburg on Saturday, July 27.

Nov. 1, 1929 - Sarah J. EGOLF was on a list of residents of Harrison 
and Napier Twp. who advertised their lands closed to hunters, promising 
to prosecute anyone for trespass

Nov. 22, 1929 - Mrs. Henry EGOLF, daughter Flora and husband of 
Somerset visited here Sunday with the former's mother, Mrs. Dillie 
Miller.

Jan. 3, 1930 - Mr. R. G. EGOLF, head of the mathematics Department of 
the New Bethlehem, PA High School visited his parents of near 
Schellsburg.

paid a professional visit to Mrs. A. B. EGOLF on Thursday

April 4, 1929 Unseated land sale for taxes:  A. EGOLF & Ickes, 85 
acres. owing for 1927 and 1928 school taxes of $13.36 and road taxes of  
$11.52.

April 18, 1930 - J. Howard EGOLF, former supervisor of Juniata Twp., 
was appointed Supervisor to fill a vacancy left by the resignation of 
Samuel G. Diehl.

July 3, 1930 - Mrs. Emma EGOLF, John Grencke and family of Somerset 
were Sunday visitors at Harry Dull's.

July 18, 1930 - Robbers operating in Bedford, entered the home of Mrs. 
A. B. EGOLF, at 9 o'clock while Mrs. EGOLF was alone.  She summoned her 
husband who brought constable Clawson, but the robbers were gone.  

July 18, 1930 - EGOLF Reunion will be held in the EGOLF Grove near 
Buckstown, PA on Saturday, July 26th.

Aug. 1, 1930 - New Paris:  Rebecca Crissman of this place, son Edward, 
and Mr. and Mrs. Bruce Blackburn and family of Johnstown, attended the 
EGOLF reunion held at EGOLF Park at Buckstown, Saturday.

Aug. 15, 1930 - Young men are camping near EGOLF Bridge.

Sept. 19, 1930 - Messers Irwin M. and Roy C. EGOLF of Manns Choice 
transacted business in Bedford on Tuesday.

Nov. 7, 1930 - Schellsburg:  Howard EGOLF and family have moved from 
McConnellsville to his farm along the highway a short distance from 
here.

Dec. 5, 1930 - Sheriff Sale of real estate in Manns Choice of Jacob 
Sone, noting Sarah EGOLF as adjacent land owner along with Miller 
Planning Mill on north, PA RR on east and public road on the south, 
having 2 garages a stable and shed. 

Dec. 19, 1930 - Helixville:  Jacob Findley, Daniel Findley and wife 
went to Cumberland Hospital to see Henry EGOLF who was awaiting an 
operation.  Mr. EGOLF is a brother to Mrs. Daniel Findley.

May 29, 1931  - Mrs. George H. EGOLF
Mrs. Lavina Fritz EGOLF, 65, wife of George H. EGOLF, died of paralysis 
Saturday afternoon at the EGOLF home, a mile east of Buckstown, on the 
Lincoln Highway.  She was a daughter of the late Jacob and Louise Fritz 
and is survived by her husband; a daughter, Mrs. Lena Keller; two 
brothers, John and Charles Fritz, of New Buena Vista, and the following 
sisters:  Mrs. E. G. Smith, Atwater, Ohio; Mrs. John EGOLF, 
Schellsburg; Mrs. Charles Curley, Mrs. Emma Weyandt and Mrs. Harry 
Shaffer, of New Buena Vista;  Mrs. Minnie Stickler, Bedford, and Mrs. 
Martha Hankinson New Baltimore.  Funeral services were conducted at 2 
o'clock Tuesday afternoon at the EGOLF home, followed with services in 
the Schellsburg Reformed Church of which Mrs. EGOLF was a member.  
Interment was made in the Schellsburg Cemetery.

May 29, 1931 - Schellsburg:  Dr. M. V. Brant, who recently purchased 
the A. B. EGOLF corner property, will raze all the buildings and 
rebuild new ones and an office, opened a temporary office in the 
residence of Mrs. Brant's mother, Mrs. W. G. Colvin.

June 5, 1931 - Helixville:  Mr. and Mrs. Henry EGOLF and family of 
Somerset, Mr. and Mrs. Harry Bisel and son Dick of Johnstown, Mr. * 
Mrs. D. S. Findley and family spent Sunday with Mrs. Dillie Miller of 
this place.

June 12, 1931  - Howard S. EGOLF died at his home near Schellsburg, 
June 5th.  He was born December 30, 1879, near Mann's Choice where he 
spent the first part of his life.  After that he was employed by the 
West Penn Power Company in Connellsville, Uniontown and Morgantown, but 
since November, he lived on his farm near Schellsburg.  He is survived 
by his wife Lu EGOLF, daughter Betty Lu, one sister, Mrs. Oscar Diehl.  
Mr. EGOLF was a member of the I. O. O. N. No. 23 of Moyer, PA.  He will 
be missed by a host of friends as he was well liked by all which was 
shown by the large attendance of people from a distance at the funeral.  
He was also well known for his hospitality.  Funeral services were 
conducted at the home Monday, June 8th, Rev. R. S. Caldwell was the 
officiating minister, being assisted by Rev. A. R. South of 
Ninleyville.  The Odd Fellows held their services at the cemetery.  He 
came back to Schellsburg, the place he liked to be and was laid to rest 
with his father and mother.

July 10, 1931 - Schellsburg:  Mr. Rush EGOLF and wife have purchased 
the Louise Rock property and have moved into it.

Friday, March 25, 1932  - Mrs. Mary A. Fritz EGOLF, widow of John H. 
EGOLF, died Saturday morning at the home of her son-in- law and 
daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Joseph A. Gohn, of Riverside, Johnstown in her 
70th year.  She was a daughter of Jacob and Louise (Sides) Fritz and 
was born in August 1862, at Schellsburg.  She was married to John H. 
EGOLF about 50 years ago, living near Schellsburg for many years.  Mr. 
EGOLF died in 1920.  These children, besides nineteen grandchildren 
survive:  R. E. EGOLF, Johnstown, Elizabeth, wife of J. A. Gohn, 
Riverside, D. W. EGOLF, Glen E. EGOLF, both of Johnstown, J. Howard, J. 
Earl and William F. EGOLF, all of Schellsburg; Charles of new Buena 
Vista; Mrs. Nellie Rock, Cleveland, OH, and Mrs. Alice Hillegass, 
Somerset County.  She was a sister of Mrs. Minnie Stickler, Bedford; 
Mrs. Ella Smith, Atwater, OH, Mrs. Charles Corley and Mrs. Harry 
Shaffer, New Buena Vista.  Funeral services were held at 2"30 o'clock 
Tuesday afternoon at the Earl EGOLF home, Juniata Township, Rev. J. 
Albert Eyler officiating.  Interment was made in Schellsburg cemetery.

Elizabeth Egolf [d/o Mary (Fritz) and John H. Egolf] of Schellsburg,

Note: J. Earl EGOLF -  J. Earl EGOLF, 85, of RD 1, Schellsburg, died 
Tuesday, August 14, 1979, in Bedford County Memorial Hospital, after an 
extended illness.  He was born August 15, 1893, in Juniata Township, a 
son of the late John H. and Mary (Fritz) EGOLF.  He was preceded in 
death by his wife, the former Florence M. Hillegass who died may 28, 
1979, also by four brothers and two sisters.  Surviving are these 
children: Geraldine, wife of William Barley, of Bedford; Janet, wife of 
Warren Miller, of Ebensburg; Pauline, wife of Luther Berkey, of New 
Paris; twins, a son Carl, married to the former Geraldine Taylor, and a 
daughter, Carol, wife of Arthur Way, both of Schellsburg RD. Eight 
grandchildren and one great-grandson also survive along with two 
brothers and two sisters, Charles W. EGOLF, of Manns Choice RD; William 
F. EGOLF, of Bedford: Mrs. Nellie Rock of Columbus, Ohio: and Mrs. 
Hillegass, of Berlin RD 3.  Mr. EGOLF was a retired farmer. He was an 
Army veteran of World War 1, a life Member of Bedford American Legion. 
Post No. 113, a member of Schellsburg Post No 4440 VFW and a life (Cut

May 6, 1932 - New Paris:  Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Saylor and son James, Mr. 
and Mrs. Rose of Johnstown and Mr. George EGOLF, of Buckstown, were 
visiting the former's mother, Mrs. Rebecca Crissman on Sunday.  Mr. 
EGOLF is spending a part of this week at the home with his sister.

June 29, 1932 - EGOLF Reunion - EGOLFs and their friends will hold 
their reunion in the George EGOLF grove near Buckstown, Saturday, July 
30th.  Special entertainment, everybody welcome.

Aug.. 5, 1932 - Howard EGOLF of Juniata Twp., selected to serve as 
Petit Juror.

Aug. 19, 1932 - Helixville:  Mr. & Mrs. D. S. Findley motored to 
Johnstown Sunday to visit their daughter Mrs. Harry Bisel, who is not 
improved at this time.  [Mrs. D. S. Findley nee EGOLF]

Oct. 7, 1932 - New Paris:  Mrs. Elwood EGOLF, Mr. and Mrs. Paul EGOLF, 
Mr. and Mrs. Edward EGOLF, Youngstown, OH, Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Saylor 
and son of Geisstown, visited their relative Mrs. Rebecca Crissman over 
the weekend.

Jan. 20, 1933 - Twenty Five Years Ago [1906].  Albert A. EGOLF of 
Cumberland was seen in Bedford last Friday.

Feb. 3, 1933 - Fifteen Years Ago [1918]  John M. EGOLF of Mann's 
Choice, was in our office last Saturday.  Mr. EGOLF is a businessman 
farmer and says he puts his rough feed into cattle, hogs and colts.  
Juniata is known as the blue grass region.

March 31, 1933 - Prof. R. G. EGOLF of Mahaffey spent a weekend in 
Schellsburg.

Dec. 19, 1950 - Miss Anna EGOLF of Elyria, OH will be a holiday guest 
at the Fort Bedford Inn and call on Bedford friends.

Dec. 29, 1950 - Buffalo Mills:  Mr. and Mrs. Roy EGOLF and children, 
Mrs. and Mrs. Charles Barkley, Mr. and Mrs. George Barkely and son and 
G. A. Hillegass spent Monday with Mrs. Ross Barkley.

MRS. REBECCA CRISSMAN

Widow of John H. Crissman, died at her home at New Paris, Bedford 
county, this morning at 1.15 o'clock.  She was the daughter of Abram 
and Susan (Benneigh) Egolf and was born at Schellsburg on Jan. 9, 1855.  
She was united in marriage on Oct. 11, 1883 with John H. Crissman, who 
died thirteen years ago.  Surviving are these children:  Edward 
Crissman and Mrs. [indecipherable] Blackburn, both of Johnstown, and 
Mrs. Melvin Saylor of Phillipsburg; four grandchildren and these 
brothers and sisters:  George Egolf of Buckstown, Edward EGOLF and 
Clarence EGOLF, both of Youngstown, O., Mrs. Rush Clark, Mrs. Ralph 
Mowery and Mrs. Samuel Struckman, all of Johnstown, and Mrs. M. R. 
Thomas of Schellsburg.  She was a member of the United Brethren church 
and was highly esteemed in the community, where she resided.  Funeral 
services will be conducted at the home at New Paris Monday afternoon at 
2.30 o'clock in charge of Rev. John Winwood of LaJose, a former pastor, 
assisted by the pastor, Rev. J. S. Faninhiser.  Interment will be made 
in the Schellsburg cemetery.
