  A PAUPER INHERITS A MILLION

Has Resided in a Cave Like an Aged Hermit

  Beaver Falls, Pa. Dispatch, 15th

Anthony Bovee, an old umbrella mender, living the life of a hermit in a cave
near here, has fallen heir to one third of an estate of $3,000,000 in France.
Bovee was injured in battle during the rebellion from which he has never
recovered and he is considered rather unsound mentally.
When he told his story to friends in Beaver Falls a week ago it was not
considered true. Yesterday, however, and attorney from the East visited Beaver
Falls for the purpose of getting data from Bovee, which will substantiate his
claims to the fortune. John Jean Bovee, an extensive iron manufacturer of
France, died ten years ago and Anthony, with two brothers, one who lives in
Crawford, Pa., and the other not found yet, are the heirs.
