Raftsman's Journal. (Clearfield, Pa.) January 27, 1858
The notorious Robt. Ecker, confined in the County Jail, at Kittanning, on a charge
of the larceny of boots and shoes from the Messrs. Jack, of Apollo, made his escape
on Christmas night. He managed to reach the hall ceiling and cut his way from there
through the roof, and then descended to the ground by means of a rope made of his
bed clothes. Sheriff Kelly offers a reward of $50 for his apprehension.
