Connellsville The Daily Courier November 4, 1963
District weekend traffic accidents claimed the lives of Dennis Lentz, 18, of
Latrobe, R. D 4, and Paul F. Eves, 31, of Pitcairn, and sent four other persons
to hospitals with serious injuries. The deaths occurred in separate mishaps. The
Lentz youth died from injuries received in a one-car accident at 2:15 a.m.
Sunday, on Armbrust Road, Mount Pleasant Township. Police said Lentz and Donald
Klosky, 17, of Southwest, were traveling south on Route 119 when their car went
out of contro1, careened off a bridge support, and crashed into a guard rail.
Police said both were thrown 70 feet from the car. Both were taken to Frick
Community Hospital in Mount Pleasant, where Lentz died about 5:05 a.m., with
death attributed to multiple fractures of the neck and skull, and shock. Klosky
was listed in "fair" condition, with lacerations, abrasions and contusions. His
condition was later described as "serious." Officials have been unable to
determine who was driving the a car when the mishap occurred. Dennis W. Lentz
was born July 22, 1945, a son of Alvin and Barbara Thomas Lentz, and was a
member of the Lutheran Church of Youngstown. Surviving with his parents are
eight brothers and sisters, Herman of Lebanon, Pa., Robert Zabkar of Dover, NH,
Mrs. Frank (Eleanor) Stan of Santa Fe Springs, Calif., Mrs. Paul (June) Snider
of Norvelt, Mrs. Anthony (Mardella) Stabile of Scottdale, Mrs. Allen (Estelle)
Foster of Mount Pleasant, Mrs. William (Jane) Bisi of Loyalhanna, and Joyce Ann
at home. The body is in the Lopatich funeral home in Latrobe, where the funeral
service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, with burial in Lutheran Cemetery in
Youngstown.
