The Cambria Freeman. (Ebensburg, Pa.) June 20, 1873
We regret to announce that this gentleman met with a sudden and tragic death, on
Saturday last, at Ashtabula, Ohio, on the Fort Wayne railroad, where he had a
contract for laying a double track, while endeavoring, it is said, to rescue another
man from imminent danger. He was killed by a passing train. Mr. F. resided in
Blairsville, to which place his remains were brought, and interred on Tuesday. He
was a younger brother of John Fenlon, Esq., of this place, and of Mr. James Fenlon,
of Latrobe. Many years ago, when the old Portage Railroad was in existence, he
resided in this county and was well known to the citizens of Ebensburg. His
character for honesty and integrity was above reproach, and he enjoyed the respect
and confidence of all who knew him. He leaves a widow and several children to mourn
his untimely death.
