Will of Jacob Winemore, proved 15 Nov. 1820 Information from Register

of Wills, Philadelphia, PA.


In the name of God, Amen...

I, Jacob Winemore of the County of Philadelphia, being in perfect health

of body and of sound mind, memory and understanding (Blessed be God for
the same) but considering the uncertainty of this transitory life do
make and publish this my testament and last will in manner and form
following to wit.

It is my will and I do order that all my just debts and funeral expenses

be duly paid and satisfied as soon as conveniently can be after my
decease -

I give and devise to my wife, Jane Winemore, all my estate real and
personal of what kind or nature soever the same may be in the said
county or elsewhere for and during her life or so long as she continues
my widow and from and immediately after her decease or marrying again
then all my personal estate I give and bequeath to my daughters Jane
Winemore and Barbara Winemore to be equally divided between them - it is

further my will that my said daughters Jane Winemore and Barbara
Winemore as long as they remain unmarried be and dwell with my said wife

(and maintained and supported out of the income of my estate) free of
any cost, charges or expences whatever for or on account of them
lodging or wearing apparel.

And as touching all the rest. residue and remainder of my real estate
from and immediately after the decease of my said wife or her marrying
again, I give and devise the same to my five sons and two daughters,
namely, Philip Winemore, Thomas Winemore, Jacob Winemore, Isaac
Winemore, Abraham Winemore, Jane Winemore and Barbara Winemore or the
survivor or survivors of them and the heirs of such survivor or
survivors, equally to be divided between first however allowing my three

sons Jacob Winemore, Isaac Winemore and Abraham Winemore each the sum of

two hundred dollars more than the others of my said children in
consideration of their having paid for their boarding and lodging - and
it is my will and I do direct that the division of my estate shall then
be made by reputable freeholders to be nominated and appointed by my
said children or the survivor or survivors of them.

And lastly, I nominate , constitute and appoint my said wife and my two
sons Philip and Thomas Winemore to assist their mother in collecting the

rents and paying the taxes and keeping the houses in repair. Of this my

will hereby revoking all other wills by me heretofore made and declaring

this and no other to be my testament and last will.

In witness where of I have hereunto set my hand and seal the second day
of May in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and twenty.

Signed, sealed published and declared by the above named Jacob Winemore
to be his testament and last will in the presence of us. signed: John
Durney and Edw. C. Dale.

Philadelphia, November 15th, 1820. There personally appeared John
Durney and Edward C. Dale the witnesses to the aforegoing will and on
their solemn oath according to law did depose and say that they did see
and hear Jacob Winemore the testator in the said will named sign seal
publish and declare the same as and for his last will and testament and
that at the doing thereof he was of sound mind memory and understanding
to the best of their knowledge and belief.
