In the name of God Amen. I Robert Whitindale (sic) of Chester County in the State of Pennsylvania being 
weak in body but of sound memory and understanding and knowing the certainty of death and the 
uncertainty of the time thereof and being desirous to settle my wordly affairs and thereby be the better 
prepared to leave this world when it shall please God to call me home do therefore publish this my last 
will and testament in form and manner following that is to say first and principally I commit my soul 
into the hands of Almighty God and my body to the earth to be decently burried and after a head and 
foot stone are placed at my grave and all funeral expenses and other just debts are paid I will and 
bequeath as follows
Item 1st I give will and bequeath to my Nephew Thomas Brown of Philadelphia and William Quin (sic 
Quein) now residing situate and lying in Chester County aforesaid containing one hundred and fifteen 
acres of land more or less together with all and (illegible) its improvements and appertunances to them 
their heirs and assigns forever
The said farm joins land of Alexander Curry, George Garret, Janney Strong (?) together the above land is 
hereby willed to the said parties in the following manner Viz I intend the said Thos. Brown to have two 
thirds of the said farm and the said William Quein and wife to have the remaining third thereof the 
above conveyance is hereby made to the said parties in fee simple free and clear of all incumberences 
except what is herein after specified that is to say first I will and direct that my said nephew Thomas 
Brown shall pay or cause to be paid to the three children of William Prosser Decd. of Philadelphia the 
sum of one thousand dollars when the said children comes of legal age the names of the said children 
are- William,Thomas,and Sarah and the said sum is to be paid to them or the survivors of them as is 
above stated clear of interest.
Item 2nd  I will and direct that my said nephew Thomas Brown pay or cause to be paid unto my Sister 
Elizabeth White the sum of thirty dollars per Annum to be paid to her each year of her natural life if she 
should live longer than 2 (illegible)
Item 3  I will and direct that my said nephew Thomas Brown shall pay to my Brothers Daughter Eliza 
Ryly (sp?) of New York the sum of one dollar
These three items are all the exceptions or reserves or leans(sic) that I leave upon the said real estate
I further will and bequeath to the said Thomas Brown and the said William Quin (sic Quein) all my 
personal property share and share alike the said property consists in part of furniture,stock, farming 
utensils etc.
And lastly I hereby appoint the said Thomas Brown and William Quin (sic Quein) to be Sole Executors of 
this my last will and testament revoking and annulling all former wills by me made ratifying and 
confirming this and none other to be my last will and testament
Given under my hand and seal on this the seventh day of January in the year of our Lord one thousand 
eight hundred and sixty three
Signed Sealed Published and Decleard by Robert Whitendale (sic) as and for his last will and testament 
in our presence who at his request and in the presence of the said Whitendale (sic) and in the presence 
of each other have subscribed our names as Witnesses thereto The word Elizabeth being first (illegible)

Additional Comments:
This farm was located in Franklin Twp. Chester Co. Pa. very near the Pa. Cecil Co. Md. border. The William 
Quin(sic) cited is in fact William T. Quein 1813-ca.1875. Born Honey Brook Twp.  His wife was Elizabeth 
(Jones) Quein.
