Written: December 6, 1791

In the name of God Amen. I ANN PURDUE of the City of Philadelphia widow being 
sick and weak in body but of sound and well disposing mind, memory and 
understanding praised be the Lord for the same and all other mercies do hereby 
make my Last Will and Testament in manner following that is to say fIRST I will 
that all my just debts and Funeral Expenses be duly paid and satisfied as soon 
as convenient can be after my decease - ITEM - I give unto my Neice Sarah 
Lennox the sum of five pounds - I give unto my negro wench Edith Ped her 
natural freedom and I give unto her sons Thomas Ped and Samuel Ped as they 
respectfully attain the age of twenty six years their natural freedom and as 
far and concerning all the rest residue and remainder of my Estate real and 
personal whatsoever and wheresoever I do devise and bequeath the same unto my 
esteemed friend Rebecca Ash and her daughter Mary Craig, with whom I now dwell, 
their respective Heirs Executors Adminstrators and Assigns to be equally 
divided between them part share and share alike as tenants in common and not as 
joint tenants - Lastly, I do hereby nominate and appoint them the said Rebecca 
Ash and Mary Craig Executors of this my Last Will and Testament and do hereby 
revoke all other Wills and Testaments by me heretofore made and published In 
Witness I have hereunto set my hand & seal this sixth day of December in this 
year of our Lord, one thousand seven hundred and ninety one.
