Leader, Hannah Winnemore
No. 220
Hannah W. Leader
In the name of God, Amen; I, Hannah Leader, of the City of Philadelphia,
widow, being ill of body, but of sound and disposing mind, memory and
understanding, do hereby make and ordain this my last will and
testament; revoking all and any wills by me at any time heretofore
made. Imprimis: I will that all my just debts and funeral expenses be
paid as soon as may be after my decease. I declare that I have no
living issue to take my estate; therefore, Item. All the rest, residue
and remainder of my estates, real personal and mixed, wheresoever found,
I give devise and bequeath unto the children of my deceased sister
Rebecca, who intermarried with Doctor Horace Alleman, late residing at
Hanover, in the County of York and State of Pennsylvania, to them and to
their heirs and assigns forever.
I declare that the names of the said children of the said Rebecca are
John, Henry, Agnes I., Jane W (who intermarried with John Rohrbach)
Rebecca B, Louisa A (who intermarried with Edward Wentz) and Horace M,
all of lawful age.
It is my will that these shall take my estate share and share alike; the
children of such as shall be dead at the time of my decease, taking
together the share which the parent would have taken if living.
Item: Concerning my house, number 1431 Barclay street, hereintofore
devised, with the rest of my estate, I further will than in case my
personal estate is insufficient to pay the claim of the North Broad
Street Presbyterian Church and other debts that the same be sold to
affect that purpose.
Lastly: I nominate, constitute and appoint my nephew Horace M. Alleman,
executor of this my will, giving unto him full and absolute control of
my said real estate, with power to sell the same, as provided in the
preceding item or for the purposes of distribution and partition among
my said devices, at either public or private sale, and to make to the
purchaser, proper conveyances and assurances therefore, without being
responsible for the proper application of the purchase moneys.
In witness whereof, I have hereunto set my hand and seal the 23rd day of
April Anno Domini one thousand eight hundred and eight nine (1889).
Signed: H. Leader.
Signed, sealed and published in the presence of us who at the request of
the testatrix, in her presence, and in the presence of each other, have
hereunto affixed our hands as witnesses.
