In the name of God af Amen.  I William Hamilton of Center Township 
in the County of Indiana being in perfect health and sound in mind 
and memory and understanding, thanks to almighty God for the same 
being mindful of my mortality do make and constitute this my Last 
Will and Testament.  As to such worldly Estate where with it has 
pleased God to bless me, with I give and dispose of as follows:  :  
I give and begueath to my son Thomas Hamilton and to his wife and 
assigne, all that certain tract of land whereon I now reside subject 
to such Legasies______ as hereafter mentioned, I further give and 
bequeath to my son Thomas four head of ____ creatures, likewise the 
cow cattle, which he now claims with their increase, except __ cows, 
to be hereafter mentioned.  All the surie {?}, six head of sheep in 
addition to what he now claims, all the farming utensils, all the 
carpenter tools, all the household furniture that is in the appartment 
where the said Thomas Hamilton now resides.  I further will and bequeath 
to my beloved wife Jane Hamilton the use and occupancy of that part of 
the house wherein we now live during her Natural life.  I do further 
bequeath to my wife Jane her choice of two young ___ beasts now on the 
farm likewise two milch cows.  Bedd and bedding, all the furniture in 
the house & kitchen except the articles hereafter mentioned.  All to 
be disposed of as she may feel proper, it is further my will and I do 
order that my son Thomas Hamilton _erosure and ___to my wife Jane 
Hamilton the following articles yearly and every year during her natural 
life, fourteen bushells of wheat, one hundred and twenty five pounds of 
Pork. ____ pounds of coffee, Two pounds of Tea, Twelve pounds of Sugar, 
four bushells of Potatoes, eight pounds of Wool, said Thomas is to provide 
a sufficently_ of firewood cut ready for fire, to furnish her with a 
sufficient quanity of salt, to sow for her use half a bushell of _____ 
yearly and to carry the grain to and from the mill.   I do will and 
bequeath to my other sons, James, Robert, Hugh and John five Dollars, 
each to be paid by my son Thomas at the experation of one year after 
my decease.  I further bequeath to my son James, Butterworths _____ and 
to my son John, Bucks Theological Dicktionary and riding saddle.  I do__ 
and bequeath fifty Dollars to each of my theee Daughters, Rebecca, Peggy 
and Nancy, to be paid by my son Thomas Hamilton when they get married or 
think proper to leave____. I do further will and bequeath to my three 
daughters above mentioned each of their own bedd, Bureau, saddle and 
where likewise to Rebecka and Nancy the Loom and____ and the privledge 
of the shop to work in, my three daughters, is to have the privledge of 
the house to live in with their Mother, it is my will that all the 
remainder of my personal ___ be held by my Executors and all my just 
debts and funeral expenses be paid out of the proceeds, if any balance 
left, that it be paid to my wife Jane, for her use.I nominate and appoint 
my two sons James and Robert Hamilton to be my Executors, of this my Will 
and Testament. In Witness whereof I have herewith set my hand and seal 
this twenty ___ of May one thousand eight hundred and thirty one.

Be it remembered that on the 20th day of July A.D. 1839, before me register 
for the estate of Wills & granting letters of Administration in and for 
Indiana County was Proved and approved the foregiong last Will and Testament 
of William Hamilton Esqr. decd, by the ___ of John B. Allison and Robert 
Allison the subscribing witnesses. 2nd Nov 1839 Letters Testament were 
issued in due form of Law to the Executors therein named who were duly sworn.
