Last Will and Testament of William W. Caldwell, deceased.
                I, William W. Caldwell, of the Borough of Indiana, being
weak in body of sound and disposing mind and memory do make and publish
this my Last Will and Testament, in manner following:  In the first
place
I commend my soul to God, who gave it and my body to the earth to be
decently buried under the directions of my Executors hereinafter named
and as touching such worldly estate as it hath pleased God to bless me
with I dispose of the same as follows:  I direct that all my just debts,
funeral expenses, and the expenses of executing this my Will be first
paid by my Executors out of my personal estate.  I give and bequeath
unto
my beloved wife Martha, all my household and kitchen furniture, beds,
bedding, carpets, tables, tables, bureaus, chairs and whatsoever may be
in my possession coming under the denomination of household and kitchen
furniture.  I also bequeath unto my said wife one Cow.  I also bequeath
unto my said wife the interest and dividends arising from Five hundred
dollars of Pennsylvania Rail Road Stock which I now own, during her
natural life and at her death I bequeath and direct the said Rail Road
Stock to be sold and the proceeds thereof to be equally divided between
my sons James G. Caldwell and William Caldwell and my three daughters
Mary Torrance, Martha I. Moore and Sarah Johnston, share and share
alike.
 In the household furniture above bequeathed to my wife, I intend that
my
Clock, Cupboards and Stoves be included.  The residue of my Estate, be
the same Real or Personal I devise and bequeath unto my three sons and
four daughters, namely:  James G. Caldwell, William Caldwell, Josiah
Caldwell, Mary Torrance, Martha I. Moore, Sarah Johnston and Eliza
Caldwell; and if my son Josiah Caldwell should not come to this county
within three years after my death then I direct his share to be paid to
my two sons James G. Caldwell and William Caldwell and my said four
daughters share & share alike.  I have already advanced to my son John
what I consider his full share, but I also bequeath to my said son John
Caldwell my Gun and my Buggy & Harness.  And lastly I do hereby nominate
and appoint my son Dr. James G. Caldwell and my son-in-law James
Torrance
of Punxsutawney, the Executor of this my Last Will and Testament and I
do
hereby revoke all former wills by me made.  Witness my hand and seal
this
10th day of April 1856.

Signed, published and declared by the said Testator to be his Last Will
and Testament in his presence, at his request and in the presence of
each other

                    Be it Remembered that on the ninth day of July in
the year of our Lord, one thousand eight hundred and fifty-six, before
me, John H. Lichtebeiger, Register for the Probate of Wills and granting
Letters of Administration in and for said county, was duly proved and
approved the foregoing instrument of writing as and for the Last will
and
Testament of William W. Caldwell, late of the Borough of Indiana
deceased, by the oaths of William Banks and Adam Loury the subscribing
witnesses thereto.
        Same day, Letters Testamentary issued to Dr. James G. Caldwell
and James Torrance the Executors in said Will named.  They having first
been sworn and affirmed.
