John Bash, of Boswell, died at 4:25 this morning in the Latrobe hospital where
he had been a patient since June 29. Death was due to traumatic pneumonia which
followed injuries to his face, limbs and body in St. Vincent mine of the Mt.
Pleasant Bi-Product Coal Company. Deputy Coroner Horner conducted an autopsy and
said that death was accidental. The Injuries were sustained when Mr. Rash was
caught in a slate fall in the mine June 29, his first day as an employee of the
company. Immediately after the accident he was removed to the Latrobe Hospital
where his condition was immediately pronounced serious. He did not improve up to
the time of his death. He was aged 50 years and is survived by his wife and
family in the old country. Funeral services will he held at 9 o'clock tomorrow
morning in St Vincent Archabbey Church. Interment will be in St. Vincent
cemetery.
