Mrs. Rebecca J. McCombs Baker, 85, of 446 E. Brown St., Blairsville, died
Wednesday at the Indiana Hospital. Born in Black Lick Twp., Aug. 7, 1885, she
was the daughter of the late Charles and Hannah Garris McCombs. She was a member
of the Hebron Lutheran Church, Blairsville, and the Thelma Mae Rebekah Lodge No.
253, Blairsville. 
Surviving are her husband, Clarence C. Baker; children, Merle of Latrobe;
Russell of Indiana;  William of Orange, Calif.; Mrs. Irvan (Margaret) Edwards of
Blairsville R. D. 1; Mrs. Elmer (Zora) Jamison of Blairsville R. D. 3; Mrs.
Harold (Naomi) Burkett of West Lebanon, Pa.; Mrs. Alfred (Betty) Wilson of Homer
City; Mrs. Wilmer (Vivian) Fleming of Harrisburg; Mrs. John (Bernadine) Kinter
of Cicero, Ill.; Miss Betty Jean Baker, at home; 24 grandchildren; 20 great-
grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; a brother, Charles of Monroeville,
and a half-brother, Wilber Donalson of Clymer, Pa. She was preceded in death by
two children, Clarence Baker and Mrs. Louise Cramp. Family will receive friends
from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the Richard
K. Shoemaker Funeral Home, Blairsville. Services will be held from the funeral
home at 4 p.m. Saturday, with the Rev. Eugene E. Ketterer officiating. Interment
will be in the Blairsville Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests
friends make contributions to their favorite charity.
