(Examined)

To the Honorable the Orphans Court of Frederick County:

Whereas by the last will and testament of Anna Barbara Martin,
late of Frederick County, Maryland deceased, the Subscriber together
with John Martin, are appointed Executors of the Said last will and
testament of Said deceased: And whereas owing to the distance of the
residence of the Subscriber from the place where the effects of the
said deceased remain, and from other causes, it highly inconvenient
for him to Assist in executing the trust, required by the said last
will and testament; therefore, I do hereby decline and renounce all
rights of acting in capacity of one of the Executors, of the last will
and testament of Anna Barbara Martin deceased And I do hereby solicit
the Honl. Court to proceed under Said will in all respects as if I
were not named therein as one of the Executors.

In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my
Seal the 28th September 1823.

                                  Lewis Motter (seal)
