In the Name of God Amen, I, John Lohr of Frederick County in the State of 
Maryland, yoman, being sick and weak of Body but of sound & disposing Mind 
and Memory & Understanding blessed be God for the same & calling unto Mind 
the Mortaliy of my Body and knowing it is appointed for all Men once to die, 
do this third Day of November in the Year of our Lord one thousand seven 
hundred & eight two make ordain this my last Will & Testament in the Manner 
and Form following, Viz:  Principally and first of all I recommend my 
immortal Spirit into the Hands of the great Creator [unreadable] in the 
M[unreadable] of Jesus Christ my Redeamor for Pardon and Remission of all my 
Sins and an happy admission into

into the Regions of Bliss and Immortality and for my Body I Recommend it to 
the Earth to be buried in a Christian like and decent Manner as the 
Discraition of my Executors nothing doubting but I shall receive the same 
again by the Power of the almighty God and touching such worldly Substance as 
it hath pleased God to bless me with in this life, I give, Bequeath & dispose 
of the same in the following manner and Form, Viz:  Item, I give, devise and 
Bequeath unto my dearly beloved Barbara all that Land which I have in the 
County of York, State of Pennsylvania with all appurtenances thereunto 
belonging to be her sole W[???] and at her disposal.  Item, I give and 
Bequeath unto my oldest Son, John, if he return, the Sum of fifteen pounds 
hard Money and to my son, Henry, if he return, the Sum of ten pounds in the 
like money, and my son, Jacob, ten pounds, and my Dauter, Francina, ten 
pounds, and my Son, Christian, ten pounds, and Susannah, ten pounds when they 
come of proper age, to be paid out of my Estate lying in Frederick County, 
State of Maryland.  Item, my desire is that my two Executors, namely, John 
Shilling & John Jones as soon as convenient after my Death to take an 
Inventory of all my Lands, Chattles, Tenements together with all Household 
Furniture with all Stocks of Cattle, Horses, Hoggs and Sheep together with 
all plantation utensills.  And to have the same appraised and entered upon 
Record.  Item, my Will is that my two Executors may sell and dispose of all 
Lands and personal Estate lying in Frederick County and State aforesaid to 
the Use of paying off all just debts and Legusy's of my forenamed six 
children before mentioned.  And my Executors to grant Execute, Seal and 
deliver all such rights as I have of the Lands aforesaid and the Purchaser 
thereof in [??] as fully and to such Interst and purpose as if I myself were 
per[????].  Item, my Will is that the Remainder of my Estate after my Wife's 
Donny [could be Dowry] to be equally divided among my ten Children namely 
that is to say, Catherina, Barbara, Elizabeth, John, Henry, Mary, Jacob, 
Franciana, Christian and Susannah and to their Heirs and assigns, and lastly, 
I do conclude and appoint my

my trusty Friends, John Shilling and John Jones my only and sole Executors of 
this my last Will and testament and frther hereby revoke, Disallow and 
Disannull all former Wills and Testaments by me heretofore made, Willed or 
ordained Ratifying and confirming this and no other to be and ordain this my 
last Will and Testament.  In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my Hand & 
Seal the Day and Year above written

Signed, Seal'd, published, pronounced and declared by the aforesaid John 
Lower [sic] to be his Last Will and Testament in the presence of us who have 
hereunto subscribed out Names as Witness in the presence of the Testator and 
at his Request the Words pounds in the foregoing Enterlined and the words my 
son Henry if he return [?]ast out before signed & seal'd hereof  George Adam 
Bowersaux[?], George Martin, George Adam Cobble

Then Came John Jones and made Oath on the hold Evangelist of Almight God that 
the aforegoing Instrument of Writing is the true & whole Will and Testament 
of John Lower [sic] late of Frederick County, decd. and that hath come to his 
Hands or Possession & that he doth not know of any other.

Frederick County  December 10, 1782
Then came George Adam Bowersaux and George Martin, two of the Subscribing 
Witnesses to the aforegoing last Will & Testament of John Lower [sic], late 
of Frederick County deceased and made Oath on the holy Evangits of Almighty 
God that they did see the Testator herein named sign & Seal this Will & that 
they heard him publish pronounce and declare the same to be his last Will & 
Testament, that at this Time of his so doing eh was to the best of their 
apprehensions of sound and disposing Mind, Memory and Understanding that they 
respectively subscribed their Names as Witnesss to this

this Will in the presence and at the Request of the Testator and that they 
did also see George Adam Cobble the other subscribing Witness subscribe his 
Name as a Witness thereto in the presence and at the Request of the Testator 
and all in the presence of each other.
