  In the Name of God, Amen: I William B. Head of Frederick County in the State 
of Maryland, being sick and weak in body but of sound and disposing mind, memory 
and understanding, considering the certainty of death, and the uncertainty of 
the time thereof, and being desirous to settle my worldly affairs and thereby be 
the better prepared to leave this world, when it shall please God to call me 
hence, do therefore make and publish this my last will and testament, in manner 
and form following, that is to say.
  First and principally, I commit my soul into the hands of Almighty God, and my 
body to the earth, to be decently buried, at the discretion of my Executor 
herein after named.
  I direct my said Executor to sell and dispose of all my Estate, both real and 
personal (except that part herein after disposed of) either at Public or Private 
sale, as he may think most advantageous, and convey the same in as full and 
simple a manner as I myself could do.
  I give and bequeath unto the heirs of my Brother Cecelius Head, late of the 
State of Kentuckey, the sum of Three hundred dollars, to be paid to them by my 
executor, at the expiration of five years after my decease.
  I give and bequeath unto my sister Nancy Beall of the State of Kentuckey, the 
sum of Three hundred dollars, to be paid to her or her heirs, at the expiration 
of five years after my decease.
  I give and bequeath unto the heirs of my brother Bigger Head, late of the 
State of Kentuckey, the sum of Three hundred dollars, to be paid to them, at the 
expiration of five years after my decease, by my executor.
  Item. I give and bequeath unto the heirs of my sister, Elizabeth Wood, late of 
the State of Kentuckey, the sum of Three hundred dollars, to be paid to them, at 
the expiration of five years, after my decease, by my executor.
  I give and bequeath unto my grand daughter Ann Green, one negro girl named 
Harriet, now in the possession of Lewis Elder, but if the said Ann Green, should 
die before she arrives to the age of eighteen years, or at any time become a 
sister, then the said negro girl and her heirs if any, as also her legacy 
hereinafter given to her, to revert to her mother the wife of Lewis Elder.
  Item. I give and bequeath all the rest and residue of my Estate, not herein 
bequeathed, to be equally divided between my son John Head, and my daughter 
Elizabeth Clark, each one sixth part, to my Grand son Joseph Elder one sixth 
part, to be paid to him when he arrives to twenty one years of age, but should 
the said Joseph Elder die, before he arrives to age then his share of revert to 
the residuary legatees, to be divided in equal proportion to each of their 
legacies.
  To my grand daughter Ann Green one sixth part, to be paid as heretofore 
directed. One sixth part to Dr. Richard McSherry of the State of Virginia, in 
trust, for the use of my daughter Mary Gregory and the amnt. if any be left in 
the hands of said trustee, at the death said Mary Gregory, to be distributed by 
him, as the said Mary may direct. One sixth part to be equally divided between 
the children of my daughter Ann Hobbs, late of the State of Kentucky.
  Item. I hereby set free my negro woman Terreca, as also her issue, that she 
may have, after my death, provided she pay or cause to be paid, to my Executor 
the sum of One hundred dollars. And lastly I do hereby constitute and appoint my 
son John Head to be sole executor of this my last Will and testament, revoking 
and annulling all former wills by me heretofore made, ratifying and confirming 
this and none other to be my last will and testament.
  In testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal, this 
twenty sixth day of August, eighteen hundred and thirty one.
