Thomas & Joshua Dixon, Extrs.) In the name of God, Amen.
I, John H Dixon of Frederick County of the State of Maryland, being in perfect 
health of body and of sound and disposing mind, memory and understanding, being 
now advanced in life and considering the certainty of death and the uncertainty 
of the time thereof and being desirous to settle my worldly affairs whilrst I 
have health, strength and entire ability to do so, and thereby be the better 
prepared to leave this world when it shall please God to call me home, do 
therefore make, execute and publish this my last will and testament in manner 
and form following that is to say. First and principally, I commit my soul into 
the hands of Almighty God and my body to the earth to be decently buried at the 
discretion of my Executors hereinafter named and after the payment of my debts 
and funeral charges are paid, I give, devise and bequeath as follows: 

Item... I give, devise, and bequeath to my beloved wife Mary Dixon for and during 
her natural life the whole and entire proceeds of the farm I now own in Frederick 
County and all the household and kitchen furniture of which I shall die possessed. 
The farm is to be managed for her benefit to the very best advantage by my two 
sons, Joshua and Thomas, and I hereby personally charge my said two sons to 
attend to and do their utmost for the interest and advantage of my said wife.

Item... I give and bequeath to my two sons, Thomas Dixon and Joshua Dixon, in 
trust, for the use and benefit of my daughter, Ann Coval, without the control of 
her husband, Jeremiah Coval, the sum of One Hundred and Twenty Five Dollars, the 
said Trustees to retain the sum of One Hundred and Twenty Five Dollars in their 
own hands and payout the same to the said Ann Coval at the rate of Thirty Dollars 
per year so long as the said sum shall last, said Trustees to be charged no 
interest on the same. Said sum of One Hundred Twenty Five Dollars to be set apart 
out of the first money coming into the hands of my Executors after the payment of 
debts and funeral expenses, the first installment to be paid, if the amount shall 
then be in the hands of my Executors, six months after my death.

Item...I give and bequeath to my sons, Thomas Dixon and Joshua Dixon in trust, 
for the sole use and benefit of my daughter Rebecca Brengle, wife of Christian 
Brengle, without the control of her said husband the sum of One hundred and twenty 
five dollars,the said trustees to hold and retain in their own hands the said sum 
and pay out the same to the said Rebecca Brengle at the rate of Thirty Dollars per 
year so long as the said sum shall last. Said trustees to be charged no interest 
on the said sum of One hundred and twenty five dollars, the said amount to be set 
apart out of the first money coming into their hands as Executors after payment 
of debts and funeral expenses, and the first installment of thirty dollars to be 
paid if the amount shall then be in the hands of my Executors. Six months after 
my death ----

Item...All the rest and residue of my property together with money due and owing 
to me From bills, bonds, notes and bank account, I hereby direct to be divided 
into seven equal parts, one-seventh part thereof I give and bequeath to Ruth Dixon, 
wife of my son, James Dixon, as and for her own use and benefit and as her own and 
separate property and without the control of her husband in any manner, and my 
Executors are hereby directed to pay to her, the said Ruth Dixon, and to no other 
person, and file receipt for the same and that's for their final discharge hereof. 
However, if the said Ruth Dixon depart this life before said seventh share is paid 
to her, then the same share be divided amongst her children then living share and 
share alike.

Item... One seventh part of property and money I give and bequeath to my sons 
Thomas Dixon and Joshua Dixon, in trust, that they loan the same out to some good 
man or men taking care that they have good security for the same and taking the 
note or notes from the person or persons to whom they loan the same payable to 
themselves, the said Thomas and Joshua, making the interest payable yearly, and 
the interest when received by them they then pay to my son, George Dixon, as he 
may require the same in the opinion of the said Thomas and Joshua, and after the 
death of my said son, George Dixon, the principal and interest then remaining I 
direct to be equally divided amongst his children then living, share and share 
alike.

Item.. .One seventh part of property and money I give and bequeath to my sons 
Thomas Dixon and Joshua Dixon, in trust, that they dispose of the same exactly in 
every particular as they are directed to do with the seventh part given and 
bequeathed to them in trust, for the use of my son, George Dixon, paying the 
interest to my son John Dixon while he is living and following the directions of 
said trust in the event of his death.

Item. ..One seventh part of property and money I give and bequeath to my sons 
Thomas Dixon and Joshua Dixon, in trust, that they dispose of the same exactly 
in every particular as they are directed to do with the seventh part given and 
bequeathed to them in trust for the use of my son, George Dixon, and my son, John 
Dixon, giving the interest to my son, Samuel Dixon, and following the directions 
of said trust in the event of his death.

Item. ..One seventh part of the said residue of property and money I give and 
bequeath to my son, Thomas Dixon, his heirs and assignees.

Item. ..One seventh part of the said residue of property and money I give and 
bequeath to my son, Joshua Dixon, his heirs and assignees.

Item... One seventh part of the said residue of property and money I give and 
bequeath to my son, William Dixon, his heirs and assignees.

Item. .. After the death of my wife, Mary Dixon, the real and personal estate 
herein devised and bequeathed to her for life shall be sold by my Executors or 
the survivor of them to the best advantage, and the proceeds of the sale thereof, 
both real and personal, I hereby direct to be divided into seven equal parts, 
one seventh part thereof I give and bequeath to Thomas Dixon and Joshua Dixon, 
my sons, in trust, and that they loan the same out taking a note or notes with 
good security, with interest of at least six percent, the interest to be made 
payable annually, said notes to be made payable to the said Thomas Dixon and 
Joshua Dixon, and the interest that they shall receive for the same they shall 
pay over to my son, George Dixon, as he may require the same and after the death 
of my son, George Dixon, the principal and such interest as may remain shall be 
equally divided amongst the children of the said George Dixon, share and share 
alike.

Item. ..One seventh part of the said proceeds of sale I give and bequeath to my 
two sons, respect and precisely as they are directed to dispose of the seventh 
part bequeathed to them in trust for my son, George Dixon, the interest thereof 
to be paid to my son, John Dixon, as he may need the same. After his death, the 
like provision for the care of his children as in the above item in relation to 
George Dixon.

Item. ..One seventh part of the said proceeds of sale I give and bequeath to my 
two sons, Thomas Dixon and Joshua Dixon, in trust, and that they dispose of the 
same in every respect and precisely as they are directed to dispose of the 
seventh part bequeathed to them in trust for my son, George Dixon, the interest 
thereof to be paid to my son, Samuel Dixon as he may require, and in the case 
of his death, the like provision for the care of his children as in the above 
item in relation to George Dixon.
