Written: October 14, 1783

In the Name of God Amen.  I Erasmus Bockius being now Sick and Weak in Body but 
of perfect mind and disposing memory do make and Ordain this my last Will and 
Testament--Imprimis(?) To my Eldest son JOHN I Give and Bequeath three hundred 
Acres of Land wheron he now lives to him his heirs and A? forever. 
Item: to my Youngest Son DANIEL I give and Bequeath my Riding Horse Saddle and 
Bridle also the Colt to his own use and Behaf.
Item: to my Youngest son DANIEL I give and Bequeath Two hundred and fifty Acres 
of Land being part of that Tract of Land whereon his oldest Brother now lives.
Item: my will and Desire is that the Remaining part of my land be sold and the 
purchase Money or Price thereof Together with all Monies due to me be equally 
Divided among my Children Viz. JOHN BOCKIUS, SUZANA CLINE, MARY SHIDELER, and 
DANIEL BOCKIUS only my Desire is that all my Just Debts be paid and funeral 
Expenses defrayed previous to any Distributions.
Item:  I do nominate and Appoint mh Trusty Friends Michael Storm and Adam Bontz 
Joint Executors of this my last Will and Testament so far as respects my 
Posessions in this County and my Son JOHN BOCKIUS Sole Executor of such part of 
my Wills as falls to be Executor in his Neighbourhood and I do disannal and 
revoke all former Wills Legacies and Bequests by me heretofore in anywise made 
left or bequeathed ratifying and Confirming this and no otherto be my last Will 
and Testament  In Witness whereof I have here unto set my hand and Affixed my 
seal this Fourteenth day of October in the Year of our Lord Seventeen hundred 
and Eight three

Declared by this Testator to be his 
last Will & Testament in our
Presence who have Subscribed 
the same in his Presence
in that of each other---

Timothy Swain
Frederick County October 15th 1783  Then came Michael Storm and Adam Bontz and 
made Oath on the Hold Evangelists of Almighty God that the aforegoing 
Instrument of Writing is the True and Whole Will and Testament of Erasmus 
Bockius late of Frederick County (Deceased) that have to me to their homes and 
posessions and that they do not know of any other         Geo. Murcock Reg.

Frederick County October 16th 1783  Then came Valentine Rafe and Jacob Grometh 
two of the Subscribing Witnesses to the aforegoing last will and Testament of 
Erasmus Bockius late of Frederick County Deceased and made Oath on the holy 
evangelists of Almighty God that they did see the Testator therein Named Sign 
and Seal this Will and that they heard him Publish Pronounce and Declare this 
same to be his last Will and Testament that at this time of his so doing he was 
to the best of their Apprehensions of sound and disposing mind memory and 
understanding and that they respectively Subscribed their Names as Witnesses to 
this Will in the presence and at the request of the Testator and that they did 
also see Timothy Swain the other Subscribing Witness Subscribe his name as a 
Witness thereto in the presence and at the request of the Testator and in the 
presence of Each Other.              Geo. Murdock Reg.
