OBITUARY: Roy M. Ferley, Worth County, Iowa


                             Roy M. Ferley

Roy M. Ferley (61) former Lake Mills resident, died May 20, 1968 at the
Vet's Hospital, Shorewood Hills, Madison,WI where he had been a patient
1 1/2 months.  His funeral was held at Salem, where he was a member, with
the service conducted by Rev. I.B. Sorenson and buial in Silver Lake
Cemetery.  Military rites were conducted by Otto-Chose Post of Lake Mills.
He was a WW II vet and was wounded in service.  He was born August 21, 1906
in Silver Lake Twp. to Peter and Thea Ferley.  He was baptized and confirmed
in Silver Lake.  He lived and farmed with his family until he moved near
Emmons in 1938 where he lived two years before moving to Lake Mills.  He
was a carpenter and painter and continued in the profession after moving
to Onalaska where he made his home with is sister and brother-in-law, Mr.
and Mrs. Melvin Bergum.  He was single.

He was preceded in death by his father several years ago.  He is survived
by his mother in Lake Mills; four brothers, Lawrence, Emmons; Alexander,
Perry and Clarence, Lake Mills; four sisters, Mrs. Mabel Johnson, LaCross,
WI; Mrs. Karl (Clara) Craddock, Harrisburg, SD and Mrs. Franklin (Berniece)
Iverson, Emmons.
