OBITUARY: Alfred Ferley, Worth County, Iowa


                            Alfred Ferley

Alfred Ferley (84) died April 29, 1978 at Naeve Hospital, Albert Lea,
MN.  The funeral was held at Silver Lake, with Rev. Carrol Long
officiating.  He was born July 2l, 1893 in Worth Co. to Tom and Anna
(Jensen) Ferley.  He was baptized and confirmed at Silver Lake.

He married Gena J. Loken on January 17, 1920.  He was a farmer in the
Emmons area before retiring to Emmons in 1951.

He is survived by his wife, Gena; two sons, Glenn, Northwood and Seymour,
Emmons and a daughter, Mrs. Leo (Ardella) Hagen, Northwood; 13 grandchildren;
14 great-grandchildren; a brother, John, Northwood; two sisters, Mrs. Nels
(Emma) Sorbo, Lake Mills and Mrs. Clarence (Gena) Mostrom, Northwood. 
He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Gaylord in infancy; a
sister, Mrs. Ole (Bertha) Sorbo and three brothers, Albert, Gilbert and
Melvin.
